The Solution Architect will play a pivotal role in leading the technical aspects of migrating mainframe systems to Azure, focusing on designing and implementing architectural solutions for specific user stories, features, and technical challenges. This position requires a strong technical background, deep knowledge of Azure and related technologies, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to ensure that the technical solutions align with the organization's strategic goals.
Key Responsibilities:

1. Collaborate with Product Owners, Business Analysts, and Development Teams to understand technical requirements, user stories, and features.
2. Design and document architectural solutions for specific tasks, ensuring that they align with the overall architectural vision and are compliant with best practices and industry standards.
3. Provide technical leadership to development teams, guiding them in the implementation of architectural solutions and ensuring alignment with the architectural vision.
4. Conduct code reviews to ensure that the code aligns with the architectural design, quality standards, and coding best practices.
5. Identify and address technical challenges, making informed decisions and proposing efficient and effective solutions.
6. Collaborate with DevOps teams to support the seamless integration of technical solutions into the software development process, including CI/CD pipelines.
7. Optimize system performance by identifying and addressing performance bottlenecks, scalability concerns, and other technical constraints.
8. Address security risks and vulnerabilities, ensuring that the technical solutions meet security standards and best practices.
9. Integrate new technical solutions with existing systems, facilitating seamless interaction between components.
10. Manage IT integration solutions using relevant platforms, support services, methods and guidelines
11. Document architectural decisions, design diagrams, and technical guidelines to ensure a clear understanding of the technical solutions within the team.
12. Ensure that technical solutions are thoroughly tested and meet quality standards, collaborating with testing teams when necessary.
13. Stay updated on emerging technologies, architectural trends, and best practices to ensure that the architecture remains cutting-edge and relevant.
14. Collaborate with Infrastructure and Cloud teams to ensure the successful deployment and operation of technical solutions.
Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
- Proven experience as a Solution Architect or similar role, with a track record of designing and implementing technical solutions.
- Deep knowledge of Azure and related technologies, including Azure Functions, Open Shift on Azure, Kubernetes, Cosmos DB, SQL DB, and DB2.
- Experience with RESTful and GraphQL API methodologies.
- Proficiency in modern software development practices and agile methodologies.
- Strong problem-solving skills, adaptability, and a commitment to continuous learning.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
