About the design team

The design team at BMS is a group of tight-knit, high-performing individuals who have deeply imbibed the spirit of Agile as an attitude. We focus deeply on challenging our own assumptions by keeping an ear to the ground to better understand the ever-evolving landscape. Constant learning is an integral part of the culture coupled with regular, fun interactive sessions that help the team to bond better. Being a collaborative problem-solver is key to fitting in at BMS. We value different points of view and work closely across departments to deliver designs that have massive impact. Being able to give and absorb constructive feedback is a skill that is critical.

What you should bring to the table:

- Demonstrable UI design skills with a strong portfolio
- A deep understanding of the role of an interaction designer in promoting usability and learnability of the interface
- An understanding of the role of emotion and feedback in design
- The ability to build on and align to a design system
- Proficiency in Photoshop, Illustrator, Figma or other visual design tools. Motion design tools similar to After Effects or the proficient use of Lottie will be an added edge
- Proficiency in rapid prototyping.
- Excellent visual design skills with sensitivity to user-system interaction
- Ability to present your designs and sell your solutions to various stakeholders.
- Ability to solve problems creatively and effectively
- Up-to-date with the latest UI trends, techniques, and technologies
- Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development process
- A love of story-telling, animation and narrative styles will be an advantage

What the work looks like:

- Constant innovation with an eye on global trends
- Collaborating with product design, management and engineering to define and implement innovative solutions for the final visuals and experience
- Collaborating effectively with UX designers to achieve the desired outcome.
- Sharpening the design solution by sharing ideas early for feedback, being open to testing and making iterations
- Conceptualize original ideas that bring simplicity and user-friendliness to complex design roadblocks
- Create micro-interactions, layouts, patterns to perfect the interaction
- Present and defend designs and key milestone deliverables to peers and executive level stakeholders
- Establish and promote design guidelines, best practices and standards
- Document the process
- Rinse and repeat
