**Background**: In view of heightened expectations from regulators and to ensure a strong and consistent global control environment, Securities Services is strengthening its Global Governance and Standards Office, reporting to the EMEA In Business Risk and Controls Office. Securities Services Risk & Controls is responsible for providing Securities Services with strategic direction in the design and implementation of an internal control/governance framework. The role will focus in enhancing the governance, reporting and controls framework for Securities Services, supporting committees in EMEA and Globally. This includes the oversight of the front office control processes over risk generating activities as well as coordinating with independent control functions, audit, and external regulators. Key activities include providing consistent timely and actionable metrics, producing governance materials, providing support for audits, general controls, policy compliance, Manager’s Control Assessment (MCA), third-party risk management and compliance, information security, data privacy, management reporting, continuity of business/crisis management oversight, quality management oversight, and data governance and quality. The incumbent will work across a broad range of stakeholders including IBRCs, Front Line Business, Business Management, ICRM, Legal and O&T, to ensure appropriate controls are in place and implementation of key policies is consistent with Citi standards and in alignment with the regulatory requirements. **Responsibilities**: - Review global regulations and identify applicability to the line of business. - Review, Identify and Maintain appropriate procedures to ensure compliance to the regulations. - Responsible for ensuring that all of the activities follow the necessary rules and regulations, and that the business complies with legal / regulatory boundaries and jurisdictions. - Provides guidance and advise related to regulatory matters. Also, collaborate with relevant stakeholders such as ICRM, Legal ensuring appropriate guidance has been provided w.r.t the regulatory matters. - Coordinates and conducts the assessment of internal controls to ensure compliance as required by the regulations. - Lead integration of regulatory related controls into Manager’s Control Assessment (MCA) - Focuses on resolution of complex regulatory requirements, where expertise is required to interpret against regulations, policies, guidelines or processes. - Facilitates ownership for one or more processes, reports, procedures or products, and may also be considered analytical or procedural experts representing a unit or team on cross-function process or project deliverables. - Maintains relationships with relevant stakeholders within Citi on regulatory matters. - Coordinate multiple control initiatives on behalf of the business: designing solutions, developing plans, analyzing data, driving execution and providing oversight across Securities Services program. - Has the ability to operate with a limited level of direct supervision. - Leverage data to examine impacts to customer experience, control gaps and regulatory breaks. - Contribute to monthly/quarterly business control reviews and various control forums and Committee meetings as needed. **Qualifications**: - 5 - 8 years of experience in Compliance and Control, Governance, Identify, Assess, Monitor and Reporting over Regulatory Compliances, Reviews and Expectations - Knowledge of Securities Services products - Familiarity with frameworks that deliver policies and procedures to ensure compliance with relevant laws, rules, and regulations - Track record of managing stakeholders at all levels and within complex organizational structures - Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication skills - Risk based thinking and analytical mind-set - Demonstrated ability to work independently as well part of virtual teams to deliver on strategic outcomes - Accuracy and attention to detail - Effective organizational influencing skills required - Excellent problem-solving skills, ability to see the big pictures with high attention to critical details - Demonstrated ability to develop and implement strategy and process improvement initiatives **Education**: - Bachelor’s/University degree or equivalent experience This job description provides a high-level review of the types of work performed.
