The **Credit Point of View (CPOV) Emerging Risk Team** examines trends in the macroeconomic environment, landscapes, and credit industry. The team partners with product-specific analytic teams to dig deeper into trends assessing any potential portfolio risks, informing credit strategy and forecasting. Additional partnerships with internal teams sourcing deposit and transaction data, marketing analytics, and research groups further complement innovative uses of data to quantify credit risk.
As an** Associate **on the** CPOV Emerging Risk team**, you will be accountable for consumer credit analyses across industry product types and Consumer and Community Bank portfolios - informed by changes in the landscape, consumer behavior, and macro-economic influences. The credit views are used to support the Chief Risk Officer (and other senior leaders including the firm Chief Risk Officer, Chief Financial Officer, Investor Relations and Regulators) with a proactive viewpoint on consumer credit trends. Your role will be to help design and execute a strategic architecture of compelling views of consumer and wholesale credit across the Consumer and Community Bank.
**Responsibilities**:
- Performing data analysis to research credit and consumer behavior trends, understand their drivers, and conduct impact assessments on consumer credit portfolios
- Evaluating how changes in the consumer credit environment impact the performance of credit portfolios - with a particular focus on macroeconomic, socioeconomic, and intelligence trends
- Building compelling data visualizations & distilling key informative messages clearly from large amounts of data
- Communicating key findings, participating in forums, and advancing the dialogue around credit trends within the risk community at both the analyst and executive levels
- Leverage advanced analytical tools and techniques to build automated solutions that will enable us to combine large volumes of data from multiple sources and identify concerning patterns
**Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills**:
- 3+ Years of experience in Credit Risk Management, Statistical Modeling or Data Analytics
- A Bachelor's degree in a quantitative discipline (Finance/Stats/Econ/Math/Engineering) or equivalent work/training is required
- Strong data handling skills leveraging tools such as SAS, SQL, MS Office required
- Hands-on experience of data analytics with Python is preferred
- Strong analytical, interpretive, and problem-solving skills
- Prior experience with solving consumer credit risk problems involving roll rates, credit losses and their drivers is preferred
- Communication skills and ability to convey risk management results, outlooks and cross-consumer points of view to key partners & senior executives
- Self-starter - able to take the initiative, bring ideas to the table and operate independently
- Ability to develop an auditable control framework for the research completed by the team
**Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills**
- Knowledge of regulatory modeling (IFRS9/CECL/CCAR preferred)
