**Job Title: Welder - Fire Fighting Systems**

**Department**:Fabrication / Installation - Fire Protection

**Employment Type**: Full-Time

**Reporting To**: Site Supervisor / Project Engineer

**Job Purpose**:
To perform welding and fabrication tasks required for the installation and maintenance of fire fighting piping systems such as sprinkler lines, standpipes, hydrants, and pump connections, ensuring structural integrity and compliance with fire safety standards.

**Key Responsibilities**:
Weld and fabricate mild steel (MS), galvanized iron (GI), and black steel pipes used in fire protection systems.
- Use arc welding, MIG, or TIG techniques as required by project specifications
- Prepare and assemble pipes, flanges, hangers, and brackets for installation.
- Interpret technical drawings, isometric diagrams, and fabrication blueprints for accurate assembly.
- Perform groove welding, butt welding, and socket welding based on the type of connection.
- Conduct welding tasks for fire hydrant systems, sprinkler networks, and fire pump rooms.
- Conduct visual inspections and non-destructive testing (if required) on welds to ensure quality.
- Maintain welding equipment and tools in good condition.
- Ensure adherence to fire safety standards (NFPA, IS standards) and site safety protocols.

**Required Skills & Competencies**:

- Proficiency in various welding techniques (Arc, MIG, TIG, Gas welding).
- Knowledge of materials used in fire fighting systems (MS, GI, black steel).
- Ability to read and interpret welding symbols, blueprints, and fire system layout drawings.
- Skilled in pipe fitting and alignment before welding.
- Understanding of fire protection system requirements and pressure rating in piping.

**Qualifications**:
ITI / Trade Certificate in Welding or equivalent.

2-5 years of experience in welding work related to fire fighting or MEP systems.

**Preferred**:
Experience working with fire fighting installation projects (sprinkler systems, hydrants, etc.)

Certification from a recognized welding institute or third-party welding qualification (WPS/PQR).

Pay: ₹10,000.00 - ₹18,000.00 per month
