Freight Dispatch Supervisor

**Key Responsibilities**:

- **Team Leadership and Supervision**:

- Supervise, mentor, and evaluate a team of dispatchers, providing guidance and support to ensure high performance and adherence to policies.
- Conduct regular performance reviews, address training needs, and foster a positive work environment.
- Coordinate work schedules, monitor attendance, and manage time-off requests.
- **Dispatch Operations**:

- Oversee the scheduling and dispatching of freight shipments to ensure timely deliveries and optimal use of resources.
- Ensure proper routing of shipments based on delivery requirements, traffic conditions, and customer specifications.
- Resolve any issues related to delivery delays, equipment problems, or driver performance in a timely and professional manner.
- Ensure that all necessary shipping documentation (bills of lading, manifests, etc.) is completed accurately.
- **Customer Service & Communication**:

- Act as the primary point of contact for customer inquiries regarding shipment status, delivery schedules, and any service-related issues.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers to understand their needs and ensure satisfaction.
- Coordinate with the sales and customer service departments to ensure customer requirements are met and any issues are resolved promptly.
- **Performance Monitoring and Reporting**:

- Monitor dispatch operations to ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and safety standards.
- Track and analyze key performance metrics (KPIs) such as on-time deliveries, fuel efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
- Prepare and present regular reports to senior management regarding dispatch operations, fleet performance, and team productivity.
- **Route Optimization & Cost Control**:

- Analyze route plans to maximize efficiency and reduce costs, including fuel usage, tolls, and overall delivery time.
- Implement strategies for minimizing deadhead miles and improving fleet utilization.
- Monitor and evaluate equipment and vehicle performance to identify opportunities for cost savings or necessary maintenance.
- **Regulatory Compliance and Safety**:

- Ensure all dispatch operations comply with applicable federal, state, and local transportation regulations.
- Promote a culture of safety by ensuring drivers adhere to safe driving practices, vehicle maintenance schedules, and proper handling of freight.
- Respond to safety incidents or accidents, and collaborate with the safety team to implement corrective actions.
- **Problem Solving and Issue Resolution**:

- Address any operational or logístical issues that arise during the dispatch process, working to resolve problems quickly and efficiently.
- Investigate and resolve customer complaints related to delivery or service, ensuring customer satisfaction is maintained.
- **Collaboration with Other Departments**:

- Collaborate with fleet managers, drivers, and other departments to ensure seamless operations and timely freight movement.
- Communicate effectively with drivers, providing them with accurate and timely instructions, updates, and necessary information.
- Proficiency in using dispatching software, GPS systems, and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Familiarity with Electronic Logging Devices (ELDs) and fleet management systems.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as needed.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to handle high-stress situations and maintain professionalism.

Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in freight dispatching or logistics, with at least 1-2 years in a supervisory or management role.

Pay: From ₹40,000.00 per month
