Manager - Indirect Purchase (Job level P3) for Pune location

Purpose of this position

The Strategic Purchaser main mission to lead purchasing activities for the assigned material/service categories according to the Seco Procurement Guidelines and KPI’s, participate to Strategy work, in collaboration with the Global Category Manager, seeking and evaluating new suppliers and negotiating regional or local agreements.

Primary areas of Responsibilities

The Strategic Purchaser has a local/regional responsibility to perform purchasing activities for the unit he/she is assigned, following the purchasing policy, the overall targets and strategies for the division, in correlation with the group's strategic objectives.

He/she is handling strategic direct or indirect purchases and has as main responsibilities, but not limited to:

- Participate or Develop Category strategies in area of responsibility in collaboration with the Global Category Manager or in autonomy in case no GCM is appointed in the category.
- Identify, prepare, and handle projects/purchasing activities on the assigned categories in collaboration with Category Manager or Sandvik entities, or independently for local needs.
- Research and evaluate potential suppliers to meet SECO's strategic needs within the Categories.
- Ensure that the selected suppliers comply with the regulations in force (compliance with laws,
- Monitor, evaluate Supplier performance (quality, costs, deadline), and optimize the existing supplier panel according to Seco needs.
- Manage procurement in accordance with common processes, systems and tools, following delegation and authority matrices established according to the Group guidelines.
- Execute tenders with specifications, in agreement with the different stakeholders, and create contracts related to procurement projects and activities in accordance with Group guidelines.
- Collect information about existing agreements, prices, supplier supply chain, historical data e.g. volumes & quality
- Evaluate suppliers base, establish and negotiate contracts for relevant suppliers.
- Resolve suppliers’ issues (invoices, deliveries, costs )
- Provide support to the supply chain organization (handle escalations questions), logistics, customers and/or finance regarding the execution of the supplier contract.
- Maintain up to date the ERP database and ensure compliance with Purchasing and Sandvik processes.
- Participate in the preparation and follow-up of Supplier Audits.
- Collaborate with the Global Category Managers and other Seco/Sandvik stakeholders to create synergies, savings, and negotiations opportunities for the complete Sandvik Group.
- Evaluate and mitigate risks (suppliers, products) within the assigned categories
- Supporting improvement of purchasing processes & tools

Required Qualification.

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with additional degree / diploma in urchasing

management with 10-12 years of experience

Business acumen, Skillful negotiation, communication skills, agility and drive for results, willingness to adapt in an ever-changing environment, proficient in both English and local Marathi Language, in written and verbal form.

Knowledge in Office 365, potentially M3 as ERP system, Knowledge on Supplier auditing, ISO system would be added advantage
