* Job Summary:
The Floor Salesperson is responsible for delivering exceptional customer service, maintaining the organization and cleanliness of the sales floor,
and promoting the products available at the retail book center.

This role involves assisting customers in locating books, making recommendations
based on customer preferences, processing sales transactions, and ensuring that the book center’s inventory is well-presented and stocked.
- Key Responsibilities:
:

- Greet customers as they enter the store and offer assistance. Help customers find specific books and navigate various sections of the store. Provide book recommendations based on customer interests and preferences. Address customer inquiries and resolve any issues or complaints in a friendly and efficient manner.

Sales and Promotion:

- Actively engage with customers to promote ongoing sales, special promotions, and new arrivals. Suggest additional products or services, such as memberships, gift cards, or special orders. Process sales transactions using the store’s POS (Point of Sale) system, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.

Merchandising and Inventory Management:

- Maintain the organization and presentation of bookshelves, displays, and promotional areas. Restock shelves as needed and ensure that the sales floor is tidy and well-organized. Assist with inventory management tasks, including receiving new stock, checking for accuracy, and updating inventory records.

Product Knowledge:

- Stay updated on the latest book releases, bestsellers, and industry trends. Attend product training sessions and meetings to enhance knowledge of the store’s offerings. Share product knowledge with customers and colleagues to enhance the overall shopping experience.

Collaboration:

- Work collaboratively with other team members to achieve store goals and objectives. Assist with in-store events, author signings, and promotions as needed. Provide support in other areas of the store, such as the cash register or customer service desk, when required.

Qualifications:

- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.

Experience:

- Previous experience in retail or customer service is preferred, but not required.

Skills:

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Strong customer service orientation with the ability to engage and connect with customers. Basic computer skills and familiarity with POS systems. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

Physical Requirements:

- Ability to stand for extended periods. Ability to lift and carry books and other merchandise, typically up to 25 pounds.

Working Conditions:

- The position requires availability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. The role involves working on the sales floor, interacting with customers, and handling physical tasks such as stocking shelves.
