Duty Officer

**Job Title**: Duty Officer (Cinema)

**Reports To**: Cinema Manager / Shift Supervisor

**Job Purpose**:
The Duty Officer is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the cinema during their shift. This includes ensuring smooth operations, excellent customer service, managing staff, troubleshooting problems, and ensuring the safety and satisfaction of both customers and staff.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- **Operational Management**:

- Supervise the operations of the cinema during assigned shifts, ensuring all screenings start and end on time.
- Oversee the opening and closing of cinema facilities, including ticket counters, concession stands, and theaters.
- Monitor and maintain the cleanliness and safety of the cinema, including theaters, restrooms, and common areas.
- Coordinate with the projectionist and technical team to ensure that all equipment (projectors, sound systems, etc.) are functioning properly.
- **Customer Service**:

- Address customer inquiries, complaints, and concerns in a professional and efficient manner.
- Ensure a high level of customer satisfaction through exceptional service.
- Resolve any incidents or problems, such as seating issues, technical difficulties, or customer complaints.
- Assist with ticketing and concession sales during busy times.
- **Staff Supervision**:

- Manage and guide cinema staff, including ushers, ticket sellers, and concession workers, ensuring they perform their duties effectively.
- Monitor staff breaks and attendance to ensure proper coverage at all times.
- Train and mentor new staff members, ensuring they follow procedures and deliver excellent customer service.
- **Safety & Security**:

- Ensure that all safety procedures are followed, including emergency evacuations, fire drills, and crowd control.
- Monitor surveillance footage and conduct regular security checks to ensure the safety of both customers and staff.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including cleanliness standards and food handling procedures.
- **Administrative Tasks**:

- Maintain accurate records of ticket sales, concession sales, and cash flow during the shift.
- Prepare shift reports, detailing any incidents, customer feedback, and operational challenges.
- Coordinate with the cinema manager on staffing, scheduling, and other operational needs.
- **Inventory Management**:

- Ensure the inventory of concession items is well-stocked and orders are placed in a timely manner.
- Track and manage the inventory of tickets and other cinema materials, ensuring adequate supply.

**Qualifications**:

- **Education**: High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
- **Experience**: Minimum of 1-2 years in a supervisory role within a customer service or entertainment environment, preferably in a cinema.
- **Skills**:

- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Strong leadership abilities to manage staff and resolve conflicts.
- Ability to handle pressure and maintain calm in stressful situations.
- Basic knowledge of cinema equipment (projectors, sound systems) and troubleshooting.
- Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as per the cinema schedule.

**Working Conditions**:

- Work hours will include evenings, weekends, and holidays, depending on cinema screening schedules.
- The role may involve standing for extended periods, as well as moving between different areas of the cinema.
- Duty Officers may be required to handle emergency situations, which could involve both customer service challenges and safety issues.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent, Fresher

Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
