**Job Description - Vessel Operator**

**Core purpose of the role**: To co-ordinate the day to day operational activities of voyage and time chartered tankers.

**Summary of responsibilities**:

- Ensure compliance with agreed charterparty terms
- Communicate with charterers, brokers, agents and vessels regarding voyage orders and vessel itineraries
- Monitor vessel movement and voyage performances
- Review vessel stowage and tank cleaning plans
- Oversee the fixing of freight charges and obtaining cargo space
- Liaise with owners regarding oil major approvals
- Protecting owners interest wrt ensuring cargo release agains BL’s, LOI’s, operations covered under LOI’s, vessel readiness, compliance as per Charter parties etc

**Experience Required**
- 2-3 years exp -shore based chem tanker operator experience preferred but that is not a restriction
- Sound commercial awareness
- Experience as a Master, Chief Mate, 2nd mate on Oil/Chemical tankers or a non-seafarer but with chem / veg oil operations experience
