**Role & Responsibility:

**1. Childcare**:Providing a safe, nurturing, and supportive environment for children in the Unicorn day-care/preschool setting. This includes attending to their physical needs such as feeding, diapering/toileting, and ensuring a secure and comfortable space for rest and play.

**2. Supervision**: Maintaining constant supervision of children to ensure their safety and well-being throughout the day, both indoors and outdoors. Vigilance is essential to prevent accidents and address any emerging conflicts among children.

**3. Curriculum Implementation**:Assisting in the implementation of developmentally appropriate activities and educational experiences that support the overall curriculum goals of the preschool program. This could involve participating in circle time, arts and crafts, music and movement, and other structured play activities.

**4. Supporting Learning and Development**: Engaging with children in meaningful interactions that promote their cognitive, social-emotional, physical, and language development. This includes facilitating opportunities for exploration, problem-solving, cooperation, and creativity.

**5. Observation and Assessment**: Observing and documenting children's behaviour, interests, and developmental progress to inform curriculum planning and individualized support strategies. This may involve keeping anecdotal records, completing developmental checklists, and communicating observations to other educators and parents.

**6. Parent Communication**: Establishing positive and open communication with parents or guardians to exchange information about children's daily activities, milestones, and any concerns. Providing feedback on children's progress and offering suggestions for supporting learning and development at home.

**7. Health and Safety**:Ensuring the health, safety, and hygiene of children by adhering to health and safety regulations and guidelines. This includes maintaining cleanliness in the day-care environment, promoting proper handwashing practices, and following protocols for illness management and emergency preparedness.

**8. Promoting Inclusion and Diversity**: Creating an inclusive and welcoming environment that celebrates diversity and respects the cultural backgrounds, languages, and abilities of all children and families. Adapting teaching strategies and resources to meet the needs of diverse learners and fostering a sense of belonging for all.

**9. Professional Development**: Engaging in ongoing professional development opportunities to enhance knowledge and skills related to early childhood education, child development, and best practices in day-care /preschool teaching. This may involve attending workshops, conferences, and training sessions.

**10. Collaboration and Teamwork**:Collaborating with other Unicorn day-care teachers, preschool educators, support staff, and administrators to ensure continuity and coherence in the delivery of care and education. Sharing ideas, resources, and strategies to support the overall well-being and development of children in the Unicorndaycare /preschool program
