**Role description**:
Officer Nursing is responsible to the Nursing Superintendent and assist her in the administration of nursing services in the hospital.
**Skills**:
- Supervise the nursing care of the patients in various departments of her assigned area by taking regular round and audit of her area.
- Act as a liaison officer between Nursing Supdt. and the nursing staff of the hospital.
- Interpret the policies and procedures of the Nursing service department to sub-ordinate staff and others.
- Attend the emergency calls concerning nursing services or hostel problems.
- Receive evening and night reports from the Nursing Supervisors and reports to NS in case of anything special.
- Keep records and reports of Nursing Services.
- Compiling the departmental dashboard data and analysing to generate reports.
- Maintain the records of attendance of nursing staff and leave of any kind.
- Conduct regular physical check of hospital stocks, i.e. emergency drugs, equipment’s etc. and follow up for the expiry of drugs and functioning of equipment’s.
- Assist in initiating procedure for condemnation and procurement of hospital equipment/linen etc.
- Maintain the confidential report and records of nursing personnel.
- Assist the Nursing Supdt. in making master duty roster of nursing personnel.
- Assist the Nursing Superintendent in Recruitment of nursing staff.
- Assist the Nursing Supdt. on planning and organizing nursing services in the hospital.
- Officiate in the absence of Nursing Supdt.
- Investigate complaints if any and generate report to NS.
- Keep the NS informed of the happenings in the wards.
**NURSING TRAINING**
18. Motivates and educates staff to adopt new practice changes incorporating evidence-based practices that promote positive patient outcomes. She will serve as **mentor, role model, and preceptor** to influence staff nurses' professional development.
19. Responsible for compliance of all training programmes of the nurses of the department together with continuing education for all nursing staff.

2. Evaluates clinical standards in use and identifies areas of need for specific education and training for nursing staff.
3. Prepares and delivers the required programmes whenever required.
4. Cordinates with the various trainers for conducting training programmes.
5. Maintains a general ongoing continuing education programme for all nursing staff.
6. Participates in updating of nursing policies and procedures along with HOD.
7. Responsible for update and upkeep of all training attendance records along with HR.
8. A member of Clinical Audit committee and conducts periodic audit.
9. Will collate the report of concurrent and retrospective audits and report it to HOD and plan for bed side teaching after the analysis of the same.
10. Responsible for conducting competency checks through the ward in charges and reporting to HOD to plan for gap analysis and further training.
11. Take active part in regular departmental administrative activities and office management
12. Carry out any other duty as delegated by the N.S.

GENERAL DUTIES
- Escorts Nursing Superintendent, Medical Superintendent for hospital rounds.
- Arranges and participates in professional and social functions of the staff
- Maintains good public relations.
- Any other duties assigned to her from time to time by Nursing Superintendent.
**BSc/Post Basic BSc/MSc in Nursing from a reputed, well known INC recognized Institution with clinical experience of 15 years or more.
