Qualified in accordance with the No Child Left Behind Standards.
- Masters or Bachelors Degree in Special Education and certification in Special Education.
- At least 1 to 2 years of successful classroom teaching experience as a special education teacher.
- Advanced understanding of instructional strategies for students with autism, developmental delay, specific learning disabilities, and behaviour disorders.
- Extensive background knowledge of IEP.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills to communicate effectively with a diverse group of colleagues, parents, families and community members.
- Committed to meeting the needs of a diverse student population.
- Track record of being able to manage team.
- Excellent time-management skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently.
- Passion to work with differently abled children.
- Adhere to a high level of professional and ethical standards.
- High level of self regulation and emotional skills.
**SPECIAL EDUCATION COORDINATOR RESPONSIBILITIES**:
- Maintaining and securing the admission count for every year.
- Handling enquiries & oversee the admission formalities.
- Assessment of the child and preparation of assessment report.
- Preparing IEPs which are developmentally appropriate, curriculum/standards -based, strength based, and relevant to individual students, in consultation with the therapists and panel experts.
- Ensuring appropriate deliveries as stipulated in IEP plans.
- Identifying and developing appropriate curriculum and school based assessments to support the academic growth of students.
- Planning & implementation of special education initiatives.
- Integrating new developments, research findings & best practices into ongoing programs.
- Managing caseload of special education students & implementation of their IEP.
- Driving Goal setting, progress reporting, quarterly & annual reviews, & parent communication.
- Engaging parents and families in each student’s learning and acting as an ambassador for the school in the community.
- Maintaining student records according to school standards.
- Providing training and technical assistance to teachers, caregivers and support service professionals on all aspects of cases management:
- Facilitating workshops & meetings for parents, as well as identifies resources for parents.
- Overseeing Inventory of equipment / materials.
- Coordinating with marketing team, for various initiatives.
- Connecting with student’s external support providers, paediatricians, and therapists to support student’s needs in classroom.
**Job Type**: Part-time
Part-time hours: 30 per week
**Salary**: ₹30,000.00 - ₹35,000.00 per month
