Their responsibilities include: Making contact: Reaching out to potential and existing customers through cold calls Presenting products: Using scripts to introduce products and services, and demonstrating how they can meet customer needs Answering questions: Answering questions about products or the company Closing sales: Asking questions to understand customer requirements and close sales Updating records: Maintaining and updating customer information in a database Following up: Following up on calls and sales, and initiating repeated orders Handling grievances: Handling grievances to preserve the company's reputation Keeping records: Keeping detailed records of all calls and sales Preparing reports: Preparing sales reports and comparing competitors' offers Liaising with other departments: Directing prospects to the field sales team or other departments as needed Keeping up with trends: Being aware of the latest industry trends Telesales representatives may work flexible or part-time hours, especially if they work in large call centers that operate on shifts.
