Piping Designer

**Job Summary**:
**Key Responsibilities**:

- **3D Piping Design & Modelling**:

- Develop and modify detailed 3D models for piping systems and associated components.
- Create detailed piping layouts, isometrics, and construction drawings using 3D CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD Plant 3D, PDMS, or E3D).
- Ensure designs comply with relevant industry standards, codes, and regulations.
- Coordinate with mechanical, electrical, and civil engineering teams to integrate piping designs with other systems.
- **Design Documentation**:

- Prepare and maintain design documentation, including piping schematics, general arrangement drawings (GA), piping isometrics, and material take-offs (MTOs).
- Review and validate design drawings and models for accuracy and quality.
- **Collaboration & Coordination**:

- Work closely with engineers to ensure that design requirements are met and resolve any design issues.
- Participate in design reviews and assist with the development of project schedules and budgets.
- Coordinate with procurement teams to ensure materials are specified and sourced appropriately.
- **Problem-Solving & Innovation**:

- Resolve design conflicts, clashes, and constructability issues using clash detection tools and 3D design verification.
- Provide technical support for construction teams during installation and commissioning phases.
- **Quality Assurance**:

- Ensure adherence to project standards, client specifications, and quality control processes throughout the design phase.
- Perform design checks and quality audits to ensure the designs are executable and error-free.

**Qualifications**:

- **Education**:

- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Piping Engineering, or related field. (preferred)
- Relevant technical diploma or equivalent experience may be considered.
- **Experience**:

- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in 3D piping design and modelling in an engineering, oil & gas, construction, or manufacturing environment.
- Experience with **3D CAD software** (AutoCAD Plant 3D, PDMS, E3D, or similar).
- Strong knowledge of piping materials, fittings, and industry codes (ASME, ANSI, API, etc.).
- **Skills**:

- Proficient in 3D piping modelling software (AutoCAD Plant 3D, PDMS, P&ID, or similar).
- Knowledge of piping design standards, material selection, and fabrication processes.
- Ability to create detailed isometric drawings and schematics.
- Familiarity with clash detection software (Navisworks, Smart Plant Review, or similar) is a plus.
- Strong understanding of design codes and industry standards related to piping systems.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- **Additional Requirements**:

- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Attention to detail and a high standard of quality assurance in design work.
- Willingness to stay updated with the latest software, industry trends, and best practices.

**Preferred Skills**:

- Experience with stress analysis software (e.g., Caesar II, Similar software) is an advantage.
- Knowledge of advanced piping design for specific industries like oil & gas, power generation, or petrochemical sectors.
