**Job Summary**:
**Key Responsibilities**:

- **Operate and monitor DG sets during power failures or when required.**:

- **Perform routine checks and preventive maintenance of DG sets.**:

- **Ensure optimal fuel usage and monitor fuel levels and consumption.**:

- **Start, stop, and control DG sets safely as per operational requirements.**:

- **Maintain logs and records of operation, maintenance, and breakdowns.**:

- **Troubleshoot minor faults and coordinate with maintenance teams for major repairs.**:

- **Ensure compliance with safety, health, and environmental guidelines.**:

- **Report abnormalities or equipment issues to shift in-charge or plant engineers.**:

- **Assist in synchronization and load management of the generator sets when needed.**:

- **Support emergency power supply requirements during SMS operations (e.g., ladle handling, crane operation, cooling systems, etc.).**

**Qualifications & Experience**:

- **ITI / Diploma in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.**:

- **Minimum 2-5 years of experience in operating and maintaining DG sets in a heavy industry or steel plant environment.**:

- **Hands-on experience with diesel generator operation (250 KVA and above).**:

- **Basic knowledge of electrical systems and safety procedures.**

**Skills Required**:

- **Technical knowledge of DG sets (Cummins/Kirloskar or similar brands).**:

- **Ability to read control panels, gauges, and interpret fault signals.**:

- **Preventive maintenance and troubleshooting skills.**:

- **Awareness of safety standards and emergency procedures.**:

- **Good communication and teamwork skills.**
