**Our mission and objectives**
- British International Investment is the UK’s development finance institution, owned by the UK Government. We invest with the aim of solving the biggest global development challenges by investing patient, flexible capital to support private sector growth and innovation.
- We have 75 years of experience successfully supporting the sustainable, long-term growth of businesses in Africa and Asia, and have recently expanded to invest in the Indo-Pacific and Caribbean.

**Team and role overview**

BII’s Infrastructure & Climate finance group is responsible for investments in this space across various capital products. The role is a part of debt team which focuses on project finance in climate financing transactions.

The Infrastructure & Climate Debt team is well established, bringing capital and a highly competent deal team to structure and invest in deals across our markets. It arranges transactions as MLA and invests limited recourse long-term debt as lender for specific ring-fenced projects, in the infrastructure sector, across Africa and Asia while supporting sustainable development goals.

The global Project Finance business comprises of 20 professionals across London and Mumbai and is split into two team’s each lead by a Team Head: Africa & Pakistan, South Asia and South East Asia. The team is part of the wider Infrastructure and Climate Group which also comprises of Infrastructure Equity, Infrastructure and Climate Funds, and Energy Access and Efficiency.

**Responsibilities**

We are hiring for an experienced Investment Executive to join the Project Finance, Asia team, taking responsibility for the below functions:
**Business Development**
- Assist in originating Project Finance investment opportunities utilising your own and BII’s

relationships with commercial banks, DFIs and clients directly, and in cooperation with BII’s Infrastructure Team and other teams.
- Contribute to market-mapping exercises, where relevant, in close co-operation

with the Infrastructure Team as well as develop targeted origination strategies to

focus our investment into sectors and geographies where we have natural

advantage and where our capital is needed most.
- Prepare and present high-quality investment proposals through BII’s

investment process.

**Loan Structuring and Execution**

**Deal Execution & Portfolio Monitoring**
- Assist to deliver a high quality, diversified portfolio of Project Finance

transactions.
- Ensure the maintenance of a high-quality portfolio post-disbursement including

financials, development impact and environmental, social and business integrity, leveraging internal specialists as needed.
