**Account Executive - Finance Department Job Description**
**Position Title**: Account Executive - Finance Department
**Department**: Finance/Accounting
**Reports To**: Finance Manager / Senior Accountant
**Position Overview**:
The Account Executive in the Finance Department will play an essential role in supporting the company’s financial operations by managing daily accounting tasks, ensuring accuracy in financial records, and assisting with financial reporting and analysis. This role requires a detail-oriented individual who can work efficiently within the finance team to ensure compliance, meet deadlines, and help improve the company's financial performance.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- **Accounting and Financial Record-Keeping**:
- Maintain and update financial records and ledgers (e.g., general ledger, accounts payable, and receivable).
- Process invoices, payments, and receipts, ensuring all transactions are recorded accurately and in a timely manner.
- Reconcile bank statements, credit card transactions, and accounts to ensure consistency and resolve discrepancies.
- Assist in preparing month-end and year-end financial reports.
- **Financial Reporting and Analysis**:
- Assist with the preparation of financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- Monitor financial performance, comparing actual results to budgets, forecasts, and prior periods.
- Prepare reports for management, highlighting financial trends and variances, and recommend improvements or cost-saving opportunities.
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations and accounting principles (e.g., GAAP).
- **Accounts Payable and Receivable**:
- Oversee accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) processes, ensuring timely invoicing, collection, and payments.
- Work with vendors and clients to resolve any billing discrepancies or payment issues.
- Monitor outstanding payments and send reminders or follow-up communications to ensure timely settlement.
- **Budgeting and Forecasting**:
- Support the Finance Manager or Senior Accountant in preparing annual budgets and forecasts.
- Track and report on budget-to-actual variances, providing explanations and recommendations for adjustments.
- Assist in creating financial models and projections for business planning and decision-making.
- **Tax and Compliance Support**:
- Assist in preparing tax returns, ensuring accuracy and compliance with tax laws.
- Help with audits by preparing necessary documents and responding to auditor inquiries.
- Ensure compliance with corporate policies, procedures, and internal controls.
- **Collaboration and Coordination**:
- Coordinate with other departments (e.g., Sales, Operations) to gather financial data and support decision-making.
- Work with the Finance team to improve processes and implement best practices.
- Assist with any special financial projects or initiatives as required by management.
**Qualifications**:
- **Education**: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- **Experience**: 1-3 years of experience in accounting, finance, or a related field, preferably in a corporate environment.
- **Skills**:
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, or similar) and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- **Preferred**:
- Experience with financial reporting and budgeting.
- Knowledge of tax laws and regulations.
- CPA or working toward CPA certification is a plus.
