**Position Overview**:
As a Fashion Designer cum Merchandiser, you will play a pivotal role in the development of our new line of western women's and men's wear. You will be responsible for overseeing the entire product development process, from concept to final production, ensuring that our clothing line reflects our brand identity, meets market demands, and achieves commercial success. This position requires a unique blend of creative design skills, trend forecasting abilities, business acumen, and project management expertise.
**Key Responsibilities**:
**1. Design Development**:
- Create original designs or adapt existing ones to develop a cohesive and distinctive clothing line that aligns with our brand identity and target market.
- Conduct thorough research on current fashion trends, consumer preferences, and market demands to inform design decisions and ensure relevance and competitiveness.
**2. Product Conceptualization**:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including marketing, sales, and production, to develop a clear vision and concept for the clothing line, considering factors such as target demographic, price point, and brand positioning.
- Translate conceptual ideas into tangible design concepts, including sketches, mood boards, and fabric swatches, to communicate design direction and guide the product development process.
**3. Material Sourcing and Procurement**:
- Identify and source high-quality materials, trims, and accessories required for garment production, ensuring adherence to design specifications, cost targets, and quality standards.
- Establish relationships with suppliers and vendors, negotiate pricing and terms, and coordinate procurement activities to ensure timely availability of materials for sample development and production.
**4. Sample Development and Prototyping**:
- Oversee the development of initial samples and prototypes, working closely with pattern makers, sample sewers, and technical designers to translate design concepts into wearable garments.
- Conduct fit sessions and quality assessments to refine designs, resolve any technical issues, and ensure that garments meet design specifications, fit requirements, and quality standards.
**5. Production Planning and Management**:
- Develop detailed production plans and timelines, coordinating with internal teams and external partners to ensure smooth and efficient production processes.
- Monitor production progress, address any issues or delays, and implement corrective actions as needed to meet deadlines and maintain product quality and consistency.
**6. Market Analysis and Merchandising**:
- Analyze market trends, consumer behavior, and competitive landscape to identify opportunities and inform merchandising strategies, including product assortment, pricing, and distribution channels.
- Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to develop promotional campaigns, product presentations, and sales strategies to effectively showcase and sell the clothing line to customers and retailers.
**Qualifications**:
- Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design, Merchandising, or related field.
- Proven experience in fashion design and merchandising, preferably in the western wear segment.
- Strong creative design skills, with a keen eye for detail, color, and proportion.
- Excellent knowledge of garment construction, fit, and technical specifications.
- Proficiency in design software such as Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and CAD.
- Demonstrated ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and external partners.
- A passion for fashion, trend forecasting, and consumer lifestyle trends.

**Salary**: ₹25,000.00 - ₹75,000.00 per month
