**Job Summary**:
**Key Responsibilities**:

- **Teaching & Instruction**:

- Plan, prepare, and deliver Social Science lessons (history, geography, civics, etc.) for primary school students (Grades 1-5) in line with the curriculum.
- Make Social Science concepts relevant and engaging for students through practical, hands-on activities, discussions, and multimedia tools.
- Help students develop an understanding of key social, cultural, and historical events, as well as environmental and geographical issues.
- **Student Assessment & Progress Monitoring**:

- Regularly assess students’ understanding and progress through quizzes, tests, projects, and class participation.
- Provide timely and constructive feedback to students to enhance learning.
- Identify students who may require additional support and develop strategies to help them succeed.
- **Classroom Management**:

- Create and maintain a positive, disciplined, and respectful classroom environment.
- Foster a classroom culture of curiosity, critical thinking, and collaboration.
- Manage group activities and projects effectively, ensuring all students are engaged.
- **Curriculum & Lesson Planning**:

- Design and implement lesson plans that align with the Social Science curriculum, ensuring all key concepts are covered.
- **Communication with Parents & Staff**:

- Regularly update parents on student progress, achievements, and areas requiring improvement.
- Participate in parent-teacher meetings and engage with families to support student learning.
- Work collaboratively with other teachers to coordinate projects, thematic units, and interdisciplinary activities.
- **Professional Development**:

- Stay informed on the latest developments in Social Science education, curriculum updates, and teaching methodologies.
- Participate in professional development opportunities such as workshops, seminars, and conferences.
- **Additional Responsibilities**:

- Assist in organizing school events, such as field trips, exhibitions, and community outreach activities related to Social Science.
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance, progress, and behavior.
- Contribute to the development and improvement of the school’s teaching resources and materials.

**Qualifications & Skills**:

- **Education**:

- Bachelor’s degree in Social Science, Education, or a related field.
- A Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) or equivalent teaching certification is preferred.
- **Experience**:

- Previous teaching experience, preferably in a primary school setting.
- **Skills**:

- Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to make Social Science topics accessible and engaging for young learners.
- Strong organizational and classroom management skills.
- Creativity in planning and implementing interdisciplinary, hands-on activities.
- Proficiency in using technology to enhance teaching and learning.
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills, both for students and in curriculum design.
