**Job Title**_ _**: Principal - Software Engineering - Genesys**

**The Purpose of This Role**

The platform services over 20M clients and processes more than 35M customer interactions per year while operating on a 24x7 basis. This role requires level 3 support of the platform. We like our leaders to have a deep understanding in both technical business domains.

Role is based in Chennai, India

**The Value You Deliver**
- You will help in developing and executing operational stability practices supporting the Associate Experience within the Call Centers and Investment Centers
- You will help in transforming the devops, provisioning, testing, and operational capabilities of the platform.
- You will work closely with business and technology teams to help increase speed of delivery, improve quality of code, improve production stability and availability
- The incumbent will work at the functional/business unit level to provide technical leadership to programs and projects.
- Supports and communicates relevant IT governance policies, procedures, and processes
- Guide/develop, communicate and oversee implementation of high-level and low-level design in compliance to roadmap, architecture and design standards defined by Business Unit
- Help lead support teams through incident management and crisis management
- You would lead end to end sub initiatives and deliver value.

- Has ability to provide technical expertise at client meetings to interpret/understand client requirements.
- Understand and follow approved project methodology for delivery of project efforts. This includes appropriate levels of communication, documentation, and development process adherence.
- Performs and extends to development in the following technologies Java, Angular, AWS etc

**Technical / Behavioral**
- 10+ years of experience in software engineering/development.
- Strong leadership and organizational skills
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills
- Expertise with Agile (Scrum, Kanban) delivery and software design, development, test and operational automation
- Excellent Java development skills, including TDD (test driven development), CPU and memory profiling and GC tuning
- Experience with scripting languages: Perl, UNIX shell, etc.
- You have understanding & experience with frameworks like spring and angular
- Solid understanding of REST principles and experience in design and development of RESTful services
- Understanding of enterprise-scale platform architecture to which includes considerations for high availability and business continuity.
- Familiar with data communication protocols such as Web, telephony, and other protocols: HTTP, SIP, TLS/SSL, TCP/IP, SNMP, LDAP, RDP, SDP
- Familiar with security protocols and best practices, including OAuth
- You are independent in Identifying business critical gaps and discrepancies; actively propose Application Architectural solutions
- Proficiency managing, configuring and tuning Linux operating systems
- Familiarity with Docker and container-based development and deployment practices
- Experience supporting 24/7, continuous availability production environments

**The Skills that are Good To Have for this role**
- Genesys Contact Center product knowledge
- Knowledge of Oracle, and Cassandra databases
- Knowledge of networking, firewalls & load balancers.
- Knowledge of best practices for IT operations in an always-on, always-available service model
- Great communication, collaboration and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work across teams to continuously analyze system performance in production, troubleshoots consumer reported issues, and proactively identifies areas in need of optimization.
- An ability to drive change in a creative and collaborative manner with business and technical partners
- Ability to perform as Crisis Manager for major incidents
- Ability to lead sub initiatives globally
- Degree in Computer Science preferred
