**Responsibilities**:
**Financial Record Keeping**: Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including ledger entries, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general journal entries.

**Financial Reporting**: Prepare and generate financial statements, such as balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements on a regular basis.

**Reconciliation**: Reconcile financial discrepancies by collecting and analysing account information and resolving variances.

**Budgeting and Forecasting**: Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and financial forecasts, ensuring they align with the organisation's goals and objectives.

**Accounts Payable and Receivable**: Manage the accounts payable process, including verifying and processing invoices, and ensure timely payments. Also, oversee accounts receivable to ensure timely collection of funds.

**Tax Compliance**: Maintain knowledge of tax regulations and ensure compliance by preparing and filing required tax returns.

**Audit Support**: Assist in internal and external audits by providing documentation, explanations, and reconciliations as needed.

**Financial Analysis**: Analyse financial data to identify trends, opportunities, and potential issues, and provide recommendations for improvement.

**Expense Management**: Monitor and control expenses to ensure efficient use of financial resources.

**Compliance**: Stay up-to-date with accounting standards, laws, and regulations, and ensure the organisation's financial activities comply with them.

**Qualifications**:

- Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Attention to detail and accuracy in financial data.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills.
- Knowledge of relevant tax laws and regulations.
- Prior experience in general accounting is a plus.
- Professional certification (e.g., CPA) is preferred but not always required.

**Additional Requirements**: The specific responsibilities and qualifications may vary depending on the organisation's size, industry, and complexity of financial operations.
