Foundry Supervisor

**About Us**:
Anand Metal Works is a growing foundry known for high-quality steel and aluminum castings. We are expanding our production capabilities and transitioning to no-bake sand systems to improve casting consistency and surface finish. We are seeking a **foundry incharge with hands-on experience in steel casting** operations to lead the transition and take ownership of day-to-day foundry performance.

**Role Summary**:
**Key Responsibilities**:Melting & Furnace Management**
- Oversee furnace operation for steel melting
- Monitor melting temperatures, slag removal, and tapping practices
- Ensure optimal **furnace performance, lining life, and safety protocols**:

- Coordinate with lab for **spectrometer readings** and chemical adjustments

**Molding & Sand System Transition**
- Supervise current **CO₂ sand molding process** with quality and efficiency
- Plan and lead the **transition to no-bake sand** - setup, training, process standardization
- Maintain mold integrity and reduce defects like sand inclusion, fins, and blowholes

**Process & Quality Control**
- Implement **process parameters, SOPs**, and quality checkpoints at each stage
- Troubleshoot defects in castings and implement corrective actions
- Coordinate with patternmakers and machine shop for new product development
- Monitor dimensional control and surface finish of castings

**Team & Production Management**
- Manage molding, core making, melting, and pouring teams
- Prepare **daily production plans** and ensure output targets are met
- Maintain discipline, safety, and productivity on the shop floor
- Identify **skill gaps** and provide hands-on training where required

**Reporting & Maintenance**
- Maintain records of production, sand consumption, rejections, furnace usage
- Ensure **preventive maintenance** of furnace, mixer, blowers, and pneumatic lines
- Coordinate with maintenance team for breakdowns and repairs
- Work with management on **process improvement and cost-saving projects**

**Required Experience & Skills**:

- Minimum **5-10 years of foundry experience** in steel or CI castings
- Strong knowledge of **CO₂ sand systems** and practical exposure to **no-bake molding**:

- Experience in **furnace operation, ladle handling, and steel metallurgy**:

- Hands-on approach with good leadership and decision-making abilities
- Ability to read technical drawings, supervise pattern changes, and inspect castings
- Basic computer skills (Excel/reporting); Tally familiarity is a bonus

**Preferred Qualifications**:

- Diploma or Degree in Mechanical / Metallurgy / Foundry Technology
- Exposure to ISO quality systems and safety norms
- Experience in transitioning from CO₂ to **no-bake or resin sand systems**
