We are currently looking for experienced Inpatient and Outpatient Medical Coder to join our fast-growing Coding vertical.

**Medical Coder - Inpatient / Outpatient**

**Job Profile**
- Abstracting from typed and/or handwritten medical records
- Selecting diagnostic and procedure codes to highest level of specificity
- Utilization of Modifiers for CCI edits, LCD/NCD edits, and RVU order
- Choosing diagnosis based on documentation and medical necessity for cross coding.
- Coding across multiple specialties
- Assist with projects from uplinks
- Participate in round table discussions weekly
- Participate in client weekly calls as required
- Maintains quality and productivity

**Person Profile**
- Current CPC from AAPC, or equivalent from AHIMA
- Must maintain certification via CEU requirements from AAPC or AHIMA
- Must have at least 1 year experience coding in 1-2 of the following areas:

- Hospital (Facility) ER, Labs, Radiology, IVR/Cardiac Cath Procedures. OP Surgery, Observation
- Orthopedic clinic, OB/GYN clinic, Radiology center, ASC coding, Cancer center/infusion, surgical pathology / lab, pain management, and therapy (PT, OT, Resp, Chiropractic)
- Skilled Nursing Facility, Home Health, Rural Health
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Education in medical terminology and anatomy/physiology
- Strong self-motivational skills
- Must possess organizational and planning skills
- Excellent interpersonal relationship skills
- Team Player for month end requirements
- Understanding of coding audit procedures
- Detail oriented (Attentive to detail)
- Team goal oriented/driven personality
- Strives to attain increase coding specialty knowledge
- Practice Management software and EMR software
- Conversant in Microsoft Excel, Word, SharePoint, and Outlook
- Utilization of Codify, 3M, and Optum 360 Coding programs
- Must be able to code without electronic programs i.e. Coding Books

**Work Week**:
Monday to Friday
