Job description
Primary objectives
- Making people realize the importance of physical fitness & sports - physiological benefits/ social benefits/ psychological benefits/ disease prevention benefits/ work performance related benefits.
- Making people participate in routine physical activities that contributes to their well-being as mentioned above.
Monitoring the standard of physical fitness and sports activities vis a vis the target standards and take required actions to meet expected standards.
Duties
Inspire and be a role model for students and staff to enjoy being physically fit and participate in games. - for students.
Plan & organize fitness and sports and field events in campus in sync with academic calendar and daily schedule. Assess, record, report on progress / attainment of students.
Interact with Student Counsellor, Campus Doctor/ Nurse and Yoga Master and plan holistic development of students.
Select, manage, coach and officiate sport teams/events. Form teams to represent college. where necessary, escort the team to participate in various events outside campus - Be passionate about PE and communicate periodically with students and staff.
Maintain discipline during sports and exercises/ fitness training.
Arrange periodical sports events for staff.
Evaluate every student’s physical abilities & skills by informal testing before involving them in activity.
Share information about injuries/ ailments of students/ staff with Campus Doctor.
Report behavioral and discipline issues to Management and student counsellor.
Maintenance of Gym equipment and also guiding students in the gym.
Ensure that the Gym and its equipment/ Sports grounds and facilities are well maintained and conform to safety norms - and are used as per applicable rules.
