Ot Scrub Nurse

An operating theater (OT) scrub nurse prepares and maintains a sterile surgical field, and assists surgeons during operations. They also ensure patient comfort and safety. Responsibilities
- **Prepare the operating room**: Set up the operating room, including arranging instruments and equipment
- **Maintain sterility: Follow strict hand hygiene and sterile gowning and gloving procedures**:

- **Assist surgeons: Pass instruments, sponges, and other supplies to the surgeon**
- **Communicate with surgeons: Respond to hand signals and medical terminology**:

- **Document the procedure: Record the surgical count of instruments, sponges, and sharps**:

- **Monitor patients: Check on patients after surgery and follow post-operative instructions**:

- **Prepare patients for recovery: Help patients dress and transfer them to their room**:

- **Update patient records: Update the medical chart and inform patients and their attendants about post-surgery careOther responsibilities Ensure the patient's informed consent, Anticipate the surgeon's needs, Consider potential complications and create a plan of action, and Be available for emergency surgery.
