The Australasian Kidney Trials Network (AKTN)

The Australasian Kidney Trials Network (AKTN) is situated within the Faculty of Medicine’s Centre for Health Services Research at The University of Queensland and is located in the Translational Research Institute at the Princess Alexandra Hospital campus, Woolloongabba. The AKTN was formed to create an infrastructure for the development and delivery of high-quality clinical trials to improve the health and wellbeing of people living with kidney disease. This not for profit, collaborative research group engages with the kidney care community, including consumer partners, kidney nurses and doctors, and allied health professionals to design, conduct and support clinical trials focused on outcomes of importance to health service end-users.

About This Opportunity

This is a fantastic opportunity to work with a collaborative research group and undertake central coordination tasks for clinical research related to kidney disease.

AKTN is seeking a Clinical Research Associate (CRA) or known locally as

Code of Conduct


About You- A degree in a scientific, nursing, or other health related discipline with at least four (4) years subsequent relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training- Demonstrated substantial practical experience in the coordination of clinical trials, including site coordination and quality control, reviewing and verifying data, and developing and executing project plans according to study timelines- Experience in conducting site feasibility evaluations, initiation visits, monitoring and close-out visits, in compliance with ICH Good Clinical Practice (GCP)- A comprehensive knowledge of ICH GCP, and the regulatory and ethical requirements associated with the conduct of clinical trials in Australia- Experience providing governance and secretariat support for Committee meetings and events- Willingness to travel interstate and internationally, with overnight stays (approx. twice per month, but only if safe to do so within current covid restrictions)- Proficiency with the use of the Microsoft Office suite of products, particularly MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint

What We Can Offer

The full-time equivalent base salary will be in the range $90,538 - $98,719 plus super of up to 17%. The total FTE package will be in the range $105,929 - $115,501 per annum.
