Job Title**:Academic Counselor**

**Job Summary**:
The Academic Counselor is responsible for providing guidance and support to students in their academic and career development. In addition to in-person counseling, the role involves proactive outreach to students via phone calls to provide information, advice, and support on academic matters. The counselor will use telecalling skills to maintain regular communication with students/parents, helping them with course selection, academic progress, and personal well-being.

**Key Responsibilities**:
**Academic Advising**:
Provide personalized academic advice to students based on their academic goals, strengths, and areas of improvement.

Assist students in selecting courses, majors, or specializations in line with their interests and career aspirations.

Monitor students’ progress and help develop academic plans to ensure they meet graduation requirements.

**Support & Guidance**:
Offer support to students facing academic challenges, helping them develop effective study habits and manage time and stress.

Counsel students facing personal or emotional difficulties that affect academic performance and refer them to appropriate resources as needed.

Explain the benefits of specific courses and clarify doubts regarding fees, schedules, and curriculum.

**Telecalling and Outreach**:
Conduct telecalling sessions to follow up with students regarding their academic progress, course choices, and any concerns they may have.

Reach out to students via phone to remind them of important deadlines (e.g., registration, fee payments) and provide updates on academic opportunities.

Provide virtual counseling and support to students unable to meet in person, ensuring they receive the necessary guidance over the phone or through online platforms.

Maintain regular follow-up with prospective students and parents to keep them engaged.

**Career Counseling**:
Guide students in exploring career paths, internships, job placements, and graduate school opportunities.

**Orientation and Transition**:
Assist new students in transitioning to college life by conducting telephonic orientations and providing information on academic processes, policies, and resources.

Offer support for students transitioning from one level of study to another (e.g., from undergraduate to graduate programs).

Help students develop essential academic and life skills through virtual and telephonic guidance.

**Achieving Targets**:
Meet or exceed daily/weekly/monthly targets for calls and conversions.

Work with the sales and academic teams to ensure enrollment targets are met.

**Collaboration**:
Work closely with faculty, staff, and other support services to ensure comprehensive support for students.

Communicate effectively with other departments to ensure students are aware of academic policies and opportunities.

**Documentation and Reporting**:
Maintain detailed records of telephonic and in-person counseling sessions.

Prepare and submit reports on student progress, counseling activities, and follow-up actions.

**Qualifications**:
Previous experience in academic advising or student counseling is preferred.

Strong understanding of educational programs, policies, and student development.

Telecalling experience or proficiency, with a focus on clear communication, active listening, and problem-solving over the phone.

Ability to handle difficult conversations and resolve conflicts in a professional and empathetic manner.

Pay: From ₹10,000.00 per month
