Tekla Modeler

**Job Overview**:
The Tekla Modeler - Pre-Engineered Buildings (PEB) is responsible for creating detailed 3D models of PEB structures using Tekla Structures software. This role involves developing accurate fabrication and erection drawings, steel detailing, and coordinating with engineering, fabrication, and construction teams to ensure the delivery of cost-efficient and high-quality PEB projects. The Tekla Modeler will ensure all designs adhere to client specifications, structural standards, and project deadlines.

**Key Responsibilities**:
**3D Modeling of PEB Structures**:
Create detailed 3D models of Pre-Engineered Buildings (PEB) using Tekla Structures for structural steel components like rafters, purlins, columns, girts, and trusses.

Develop models for both the primary and secondary framing systems of PEB structures, including roof and wall cladding systems, bracing, and connections.

Ensure models represent the design intent accurately while optimizing for material usage and construction efficiency.

**PEB Detailing and Shop Drawings**:
Generate precise fabrication drawings for PEB components, detailing cutting, welding, bolting, and assembly instructions.

Produce erection drawings outlining the process for assembling and installing PEB components on-site, ensuring proper fit and structural integrity.

Include details for primary and secondary framing, sheetings, and anchor bolt layouts for steel components.

**Coordination with Design and Engineering Teams**:
Collaborate with architects, structural engineers, and project managers to develop designs that meet client requirements and align with engineering specifications.

Ensure close coordination with MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing) designers and other stakeholders to avoid clashes between systems during construction.

Modify models based on feedback from engineers, fabricators, and site teams to ensure smooth construction processes.

**Clash Detection and Issue Resolution**:
Perform clash detection within Tekla to ensure there are no conflicts between PEB components and other building elements, such as HVAC, electrical conduits, or piping.

Resolve any design or fabrication issues during the modeling phase, ensuring that the PEB structure can be fabricated and installed without complications.

**Material Optimization and Bill of Materials (BOM)**:
Extract detailed Bill of Materials (BOM) from the model, ensuring all steel quantities, sections, and connections are accurately listed for procurement and fabrication.

Optimize material usage to reduce waste and ensure cost-effective construction solutions, while maintaining structural integrity and compliance with standards.

**Adherence to Standards and Codes**:
Ensure that all PEB designs comply with local and international standards, such as MBMA (Metal Building Manufacturers Association), AISC, and local building codes.

Incorporate seismic, wind, and snow load requirements based on the projects geographic location and ensure structural stability under these loads.

**Documentation and Reporting**:
Prepare and maintain comprehensive documentation, including revision control for models, fabrication drawings, and design changes.

Provide regular progress updates and reports to project managers and clients, detailing the status of models and any potential risks or issues.

**Site Support and Construction Assistance**:
Provide on-site technical support during the installation and erection of PEB components, ensuring construction aligns with the detailed Tekla models and drawings.

Address any site-related issues that arise, making necessary adjustments to the Tekla model or drawings to accommodate field conditions.

**Continuous Improvement and Innovation**:
Stay updated with the latest developments in Tekla Structures and PEB technologies, and incorporate improvements into modeling workflows to enhance productivity and design accuracy.

Explore new methods for improving the integration of Tekla models with other construction management software (e.g., BIM 360, Navisworks).

**Qualifications**:
**Education**:
Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related field.

**Experience**:
Minimum of 2-5 years of experience as a Tekla Modeler, with a focus on Pre-Engineered Buildings (PEB).

Experience working on large-scale PEB projects, including industrial buildings, warehouses, or commercial structures.

**Technical Certifications**:
Certification or hands-on experience with Tekla Structures is required.

Knowledge of other structural design and analysis tools such as AutoCAD, STAAD, Pro, or Revit is a plus.
