Job Description: Design Draughtsman - Fire Protection System

**Position**: Design Draughtsman - Fire Protection System
**Location**: Chennai
**Experience**: Minimum 3+ years in designing and creating shop drawings for fire protection systems

Key Responsibilities:

- **Design and Drafting**:

- Develop detailed design drawings and specifications for water, foam, and gas fire protection systems.
- Create accurate and detailed shop drawings based on project requirements and industry standards.
- **Technical Documentation**:

- Prepare and maintain comprehensive technical documentation for fire protection system designs.
- Ensure all drawings and designs comply with relevant fire protection codes, standards, and regulations.
- **Coordination**:

- Collaborate with engineers, architects, and other team members to ensure the integration of fire protection systems with overall building designs.
- Coordinate with project managers and site engineers to address any design-related issues during the project lifecycle.
- **Software Utilization**:

- Utilize design software tools such as AutoCAD, Revit, and other relevant programs to create and modify drawings.
- Implement the use of Aconex, EDMS, and other document management systems as needed.
- **Quality Assurance**:

- Review and verify the accuracy of drawings and specifications to ensure they meet project requirements.
- Conduct quality checks and ensure that all designs adhere to safety and quality standards.
- **Project Support**:

- Assist in the preparation of project proposals, estimates, and reports.
- Support project teams with technical expertise during the planning, design, and construction phases.
- **Continuous Improvement**:

- Stay updated with the latest industry trends, standards, and advancements in fire protection systems.
- Participate in training and professional development activities to enhance skills and knowledge.

Qualifications and Skills:

- **Education**: Diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering, Fire Protection Engineering, or a related field.
- **Experience**: Minimum 3+ years of experience in designing and drafting fire protection systems, including water, foam, and gas systems.
- **Software Proficiency**: Proficient in AutoCAD, Revit, and other design software. Experience with Aconex, EDMS, and similar document management systems is preferred.
- **Knowledge**: Strong understanding of fire protection standards, codes, and regulations.
- **Skills**: Excellent drafting and design skills, attention to detail, and the ability to produce high-quality technical drawings.
- **Communication**: Strong communication and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively with project teams and stakeholders.
- **Problem-Solving**: Ability to identify and resolve design issues efficiently and effectively.
