**Electroencephalograms (EEG)**: The primary responsibility is performing EEGs, which measure electrical activity in the brain to diagnose conditions such as epilepsy, seizures, and sleep disorders.
- **Evoked Potentials**: Conducting tests to measure the brain's response to stimuli, which can help diagnose neurological conditions like multiple sclerosis (MS) or spinal cord injuries.
- **Nerve Conduction Studies (NCS)**: Performing tests to evaluate the function of nerves, often used to diagnose neuropathies or conditions like carpal tunnel syndrome.
- **Polysomnography**: Some neuro technicians may also conduct sleep studies to diagnose sleep disorders, such as sleep apnea.
- **Patient Preparation**: Explain the procedures to patients to alleviate anxiety and ensure comfort. This may involve setting up electrodes, preparing patients for testing, and positioning them correctly.
- **Monitoring**: During tests, neuro technicians monitor patients for proper electrode placement, ensure that the equipment is working correctly, and provide support to the patient throughout the test.
- **Patient Care**: Ensure patient comfort and safety, especially in situations where the patient may be immobile or undergoing a lengthy procedure.
- **Recording Data**: Collect and document data from the neurodiagnostic tests, ensuring that it is accurate and complete.
- **Initial Interpretation**: In some settings, neuro technicians may be responsible for performing an initial review of the results before sending them to neurologists or other specialists for final analysis.
- **Report Generation**: Assist in generating and documenting reports for review by physicians, making sure all relevant findings are communicated effectively.
- **Troubleshooting**: Ensure that equipment such as EEG machines, amplifiers, and stimulators are functioning properly. Troubleshoot any technical issues that arise during the test.
- **Cleaning and Maintenance**: Clean and calibrate equipment regularly to ensure high-quality results and compliance with safety standards.
- **Work with Neurologists**: Neuro technicians work closely with neurologists, neurosurgeons, and other specialists to provide accurate diagnostic data, contributing to treatment plans for patients.
- **Assist in Surgical Procedures**: In some settings, neuro technicians may assist during brain or spinal surgeries, providing real-time neurophysiological data to guide surgical decisions.
- **Accurate Record-Keeping**: Maintain accurate records of procedures, patient histories, and test results, often using electronic health records (EHR) systems.
- **Follow Safety Protocols**: Ensure compliance with hospital or clinic policies, medical ethics, and relevant healthcare regulations (e.g., HIPAA in the U.S.).

Pay: ₹300,000.00 - ₹500,000.00 per year
