Proficiency in various database management systems such as:

- Relational Database Management Systems (RDBMS) like MySQL, PostgreSQL, Microsoft SQL Server.
- NoSQL databases like MongoDB, Cassandra, Redis, Elasticsearch.
- NewSQL databases like Google Spanner, CockroachDB.
- Proven experience in database administration, and performance tuning.
- Ability to design efficient and scalable database schemas, including normalization, denormalization,

indexing, partitioning, security best practices and sharding techniques.
- Strong command over SQL for data manipulation, querying, and database administration tasks. This includes

writing complex SQL, PL/SQL, T-SQL queries, stored procedures, triggers, and views.
- Proficiency in data modeling techniques such as Entity-Relationship Diagrams (ERDs), Unified Modeling

Language (UML), and understanding of different data modeling approaches like dimensional modeling and

star schema.
- Experience in optimizing database performance by analyzing query execution plans, identifying bottlenecks,

indexing strategies, and database parameter tuning.
- Understanding database security best practices including authentication, authorization, encryption, and

auditing. Familiarity with database security features and tools like role-based access control (RBAC), data

masking, and encryption.
- Knowledge of database administration tasks such as installation, configuration, backup and recovery,

monitoring, capacity planning, and troubleshooting.
- Experience in designing and implementing high availability (HA) and disaster recovery (DR) solutions for

databases, including replication, clustering, failover mechanisms, and backup strategies.
- Knowledge of data warehousing concepts and tools like ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes, data

integration and OLAP (Online Analytical Processing. Familiarity with reporting tools such as Tableau, Power

BI, or Looker is a plus.
- Proficiency in scripting languages like Python, PowerShell, or Shell scripting for automating database tasks,

deployments, and maintenance activities.
- Understanding cloud-based database services such as Amazon RDS Aurora, Azure SQL Database, Google

Cloud SQL, and their respective features for scalability, availability, and performance optimization.
- Knowledge of data warehousing and ETL processes.
- Certification in database management (e.g., Oracle DBA, Microsoft SQL Server DBA).
- Familiarity with version control systems like Git for managing database schema changes, migrations, and

versioning.

3. Qualifications
- Desired Experience level: 5 to 10 years
- Graduate / Postgraduate; Preferably, BE / B-Tech / Computer Science / Information Technology / PGDCA /

BSc (IT) / MCA or or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Database Administrator in a financial services environment.
- Strong knowledge of database management systems (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle).
- Experience with in-memory caching technologies (e.g., Redis, Memcached).
- Proficiency in SQL and database query optimization.
- Familiarity with database security best practices.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Knowledge of capital markets, online trading or financial services or related industries is a plus.
