**Role and Responsibilities**:

- Deep understanding of database technologies and platforms, including relational databases (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL), NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, Cassandra), and cloud-native databases (e.g., Amazon RDS, Azure SQL Database).
- Proficiency in data migration tools, ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes, and data replication technologies for heterogeneous data environments.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to define data migration goals, priorities, and success criteria, ensuring alignment with business objectives and technical constraints.
- Design and develop data models, schemas, and architectures that support the migration of data from legacy systems to cloud-based platforms.
- Define data mapping, transformation rules, and data quality standards to ensure accurate and consistent migration of data across heterogeneous environments.
- Lead the migration of databases and data stores from on-premises data centers to cloud platforms, utilizing migration tools, scripts, and methodologies.
- Implement data integration solutions to synchronize data between source and target systems during the migration process and maintain data consistency post-migration.
- Design and implement data security controls, encryption mechanisms, and access policies to protect sensitive data assets during transit and storage in cloud environments.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA,) and industry standards for data privacy, security, and governance.
- Optimize data migration performance, scalability, and reliability through parallel processing, data compression, and batching techniques.
- Collaborate with infrastructure and architecture teams to provision and configure cloud resources for optimal data storage, processing, and access.
