Product Owners are responsible for being the connection between Product Management and R&D. Product Owners are responsible for detailed requirements (user stories/work items) that R&D can use to develop the envisioned functionality.

**About the role**

As a product owner, you will have deep understanding and experience of driving and owning product development principles and processes. Experience in Agile methodologies is a core requirement, and you must be detail oriented with ability to effectively communicate with all levels of management. The product owner will ensure that the products meet the business requirements set out by the Product Manager.

You will work hand in hand with the scrum team. Use Agile best practices to ensure that we are able to meet the development requirements of customers. Be available to give expert guidance to team members where needed.

You will also:

- Create functional requirements documentation, user stories, and acceptance criteria in collaboration with Product Management and R&D, utilizing resource from consultants, sales, and other partners as required.
- Prioritize and refine backlog based on product roadmap. Manage and maintain efficient flow of just-in-time story elaboration activities (user story refinement) throughout team execution, typically maintaining 2 iterations (sprints) worth user stories available and ready in team backlog.
- Provide an active role in mitigating impediments impacting successful team completion of release/sprint goals.
- Review QA test strategy and test cases to ensure they align to functional and non-functional requirements.
- Aid in and conduct user acceptance testing of the delivered user stories.
- Highly available to R&D during iteration (sprint) in order to answer real time questions and provide clarity to user stories.
- Provide demo back to the Product Management team at the end of each sprint, ensuring the sprint met expectations.
- Interface with documentation writers when needed. Reviews and provides inputs to end user and technical documentations. Understands the document requirements for the product release. Reviews documentation for product releases.
- Collaborate with other product owners in managing dependencies, working in a SCALE agile (SAFe) manner.

- Attend training sessions offered and use self-study tools; assist with peer training as needed

- Ensure that all internal and external interactions are handled professionally and with the highest level of service, follow-through and consistently keep commitments
- Ensure a professional communication manner at all times

Take ownership of all issues, maintain constant communication with customers and management and work until issues are resolved

**Mentoring & Training**
- Act as a coach and mentor for more junior personnel.
- Recommend and develop training sessions for knowledge sharing within the team.

**Additional Duties**
- Recommend improvements in Product Management policies and procedures.
- Additional duties as assigned.
