**Toxicologist - In vitro alternative toxicology**

**Company Description**

Location: Vellore, Tamil Nadu

Duration: Fulltime

1. To conduct **in vitro alternative toxicology testing **(reconstructed human models) as per OECD regulations for Chemicals, Cosmetics/ingredients, Pharmaceuticals,
Medical Devices, Consumer Products, Food/Feed additives and Agrochemicals.

2. Ability to perform cytotoxicity assay using non-fluorescent assays like MTT, Alamar blue and Neutral red and fluorescent assays like Calcein AM/PI, FDA/PI etc.,

3. To develop a testing protocol for new in-house developed reconstructed models abiding by OECD regulation and/or other relevant regulations.

4. To perform basic mammalian cell culture works and cell-based assays like protein isolation, western blot, immunocytochemistry, FACS, viability assays and proliferation assay. Analyse data, and report results is an added advantage

5. Accurate and reliable record keeping including database management, batch records, notebooks, and all pertinent documentation.

6. Sterile preparation and maintenance of cleanroom and laboratory glassware, tools, and reagents required for experiments.

7. Follow Standard Operating Procedures and adhere to all safety and company policies.

**Laboratory Experience**:Includes but is not limited to:
1. Demonstrated and proficient skills in handling in vitro reconstructed test models.
2. Standard mammalian cell culture procedures and associated aseptic techniques in addition to maintenance of tissue culture facilities.
3. Experience using basic laboratory equipment and carrying out routine laboratory tasks; knowledge of safe laboratory procedures.

**Required Qualifications**:
1. Masters/PhD in life science or any relevant field with 2-3 years of relevant work experience consistent with the anticipated responsibilities detailed above, preferably in an industrial setting.

2. The ability to multitask and think critically, creatively and willingness to learn.
3. Eager to work in a successful small business with a flexible, forward-thinking, pro-active, hands-on, and multi-disciplinary mindset.
5. Excellent organizational skills.
6. Excellent verbal/written communication skills.
7. Applicant must be willing and able to work reliably on a flexible work schedule,

Monday - Friday and some weekends, to meet the demands of the Biology research group.
