Assistant Professor of Chemistry

Key Responsibilities:
- **Teaching**:
- Design and deliver engaging undergraduate and graduate level chemistry courses across various areas of specialization.
- Develop and update course syllabi, lecture materials, and assessments.
- Conduct laboratory sessions, supervise student experiments, and provide hands-on instruction.
- Provide individual student guidance and academic advising.
- **Research**:
- Conduct independent research in a specialized area of chemistry, aligned with the department's focus.
- Secure external research funding through grant proposals
- Publish research findings in peer-reviewed scientific journals
- Mentor graduate students in research projects
- **Scholarly Engagement**:
- Present research findings at conferences and workshops
- Actively participate in departmental and university committees
- Stay updated on current trends and advancements in the field of chemistry
- **Student Support**:
- Advise students on academic and career pathways
- Provide mentorship and support to undergraduate and graduate students
- Foster a positive learning environment in the classroom and laboratory
Required Qualifications:
- Ph.D. in Chemistry from a reputable institution
- Demonstrated record of high-quality research publications in relevant scientific journals
- Strong teaching skills and experience with undergraduate and/or graduate level chemistry courses
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with students, colleagues, and collaborators
Preferred Qualifications:
- Postdoctoral research experience in a related field
- Experience with grant writing and securing research funding
- Familiarity with modern research techniques and instrumentation
- Commitment to fostering diversity, equity, and inclusion within the classroom and research environment
