Role Description:
**Job Overview and Responsibilities**:
Booking Holdings India is a Center of Excellence (COE) based in Bangalore, India and was created to support the
increasing business demands of the Booking Holdings Brands. The COE is a key enabler of Booking Holdings’ global
talent strategy for several technology functions such as Cybersecurity, Fraud monitoring/analytics, IT etc. across our
many Brand subsidiaries.
COE is looking for a Corporate Counsel (Ethics & Compliance) /Compliance Officer, for the Legal department in
overseeing the organization’s adherence to the applicable laws and regulations. The role would also require working
closely with business stakeholders in the Booking Holdings’ and Brand legal teams. The Corporate Counsel/ Compliance
Officer will also drive projects on implementing COE’s compliance and ethics standards in line with Booking Holdings
Group Compliance policies and work closely with Booking Holdings’ Global Investigation Services (GIS) team.

**Qualification**:
A university degree or equivalent in scientific, business, or legal studies.

Law degree or equivalent from reputable law school is preferred but not mandatory
Certified Compliance and Ethics Professional credentials

**Years of Relevant Job Experience**

At least 10+ years’ work experience in the field of implementing compliance program, ensuring labor compliance and exposure to employee relations related responsibilities like witness interviews, drafting memos on investigations.

**Requirements of Special Knowledge/Skills**
- Design, implement and maintain Ethics and Compliance Framework for Booking Holdings India COE and lead ethics, employee relations and compliance charter along with the India Legal & Compliance Lead and India People Lead.
- Create, publish and maintain dashboards on compliance cases being reported by employees or HR across BH India COE and assist the People Team in “fact finding” issues related to violations of Compliance policies and related matters
- Act as an Ethics Mentor and partner with Ethics Ambassadors to organize awareness, communication and visibility for Ethics Framework.
- Lead and organize annual compliance events to be conducted for all employees across BH India COE.
- Work with Labor Consultants to ensure compliance of labor laws applicable to COE India
- Report compliance findings, and risks to senior management and stakeholders
- Manage, track and update the GIS team about all COE India related compliance matters in weekly calls
- Assign Compliance training and drive awareness programs for employees at all levels to ensure they understand compliance requirements.
- Report Compliance KPIs on a quarterly basis to the local leadership as well as the Global Compliance Training team.
- Coordinate with Auditors during internal and external audits on matters related to compliance.
- Additional project and ad hoc work as necessary to support the compliance & ethics function and mature the program.

**Communications & Organizational Skills**
- Fluency in English and ability to work and communicate directly in English
- Ability to articulate complex compliance matters to the COE management teams
- Strong writing and editing skills and solid organizational skills
- Ability to work independently with mínimal supervision
- This is an independent contributor role that involves close collaboration with both India-based and international counsels, as well as functional teams. Therefore, the ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse functions, backgrounds, and locations to influence perspectives and build consensus is essential.
- Ability to comfortably work with both technical and non-technical audiences and to work with and through all levels in an organization.
- Ability to engage with employees and hold “fact finding” conversations independently.
