Lab Technician

Position Summary:
As a Laboratory Technician at our company, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and safety of our products, which include Fuel, Oil, Air, and Brake Hoses and Pipes. You will be responsible for conducting various laboratory tests, analyzing samples, and supporting the overall quality assurance process to meet industry standards and customer requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
Laboratory Testing: Perform a wide range of tests on raw materials, intermediate products, and finished hoses and pipes. Tests may include but are not limited to tensile strength, compression, elongation, burst pressure, leak detection, and temperature resistance.

Sample Collection: Collect samples from production batches for testing and analysis. Ensure that samples are properly labeled and organized for traceability.

Data Analysis: Accurately record and analyze test results, comparing them to established specifications and quality standards. Identify any deviations or non-conformities and report them to the relevant departments.

Calibration and Maintenance: Regularly calibrate laboratory equipment and ensure that all equipment is well-maintained and in good working condition. Report any issues or malfunctions promptly.

Quality Assurance Support: Collaborate with the Quality Assurance team to conduct investigations and root cause analyses for any quality-related issues. Help implement corrective and preventive actions to address any identified problems.

Compliance and Documentation: Ensure all laboratory activities and testing procedures comply with relevant industry standards, safety regulations, and company policies. Maintain accurate and organized records of all test data and related documentation.

Research and Development: Support the Research and Development team in testing new product prototypes and materials, providing valuable feedback for product improvements and innovation.

Safety and Cleanliness: Maintain a safe and clean laboratory environment, following proper safety protocols and practices. Dispose of hazardous waste in accordance with established procedures.

Training and Support: Provide training and support to production personnel regarding quality standards, testing procedures, and proper sample collection techniques.

Continuous Improvement: Continuously seek opportunities for process optimization, efficiency improvements, and cost-saving initiatives within the laboratory operations.

**Requirements**:

- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Chemistry, Materials Science, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a laboratory technician in a manufacturing environment, preferably in the automotive industry or related field.
- Familiarity with testing methods and equipment used in the rubber/plastic industry is a plus.
- Knowledge of industry standards and regulations related to hoses and pipes manufacturing is beneficial.
- Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively report test results and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Adherence to safety protocols and a commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.
