Job Overview:

Key Responsibilities:
- **Patrol Duties**: Conduct regular patrols of the premises, either on foot or in a vehicle, to observe and detect any signs of suspicious activity, safety hazards, or security breaches.
- **Monitoring Security Systems**: Monitor security cameras, alarms, and other security equipment to detect any signs of unusual activity and respond accordingly.
- **Access Control**: Manage access to buildings and properties, ensuring that only authorized individuals are allowed entry. Check identification and issue visitor passes when necessary.
- **Incident Response**: Respond to emergency situations, including fire alarms, medical emergencies, or criminal activities, and take appropriate action to ensure the safety of people and property.
- **Report Writing**: Maintain logs of daily activities, incidents, and observations. Write clear, detailed reports on any unusual occurrences or security incidents.
- **Crowd Control**: Manage and direct large groups of people in situations such as events, protests, or emergencies, ensuring safety protocols are followed.
- **Customer Service**: Provide assistance to visitors and staff, offering directions, answering questions, and providing a professional, courteous presence.
- **Enforce Policies**: Ensure that security protocols, building rules, and safety regulations are followed by all individuals on the premises.
- **Emergency Preparedness**: Be trained in first aid, fire safety, and emergency evacuation procedures. Respond to emergencies by following established protocols and notifying authorities as needed.
- **Equipment Maintenance**: Ensure that security equipment, such as cameras, radios, and alarms, is functioning properly and report any malfunctioning equipment to the appropriate personnel.
Skills and Qualifications:
- **Education**: High school diploma or equivalent required. Additional certifications in security or law enforcement can be an advantage.
- **Licensing**: Depending on the location, a security guard license or permit may be required.
- **Experience**: Previous experience in security, law enforcement, or a related field is often preferred, though entry-level positions may be available.
