Overview of job

Mindshare CTG (Central Trading Group) Analytics is a unit that offers strategic trading inputs to the pricing team and senior management of Mindshare. This role involves analysing media viewership & ad consumption data to provide insights & recommendations to keep abreast of changes in the macro and media environment. The role’s natural career progression leads to business strategy position.

Reporting of the role

This role reports to a Sr.Director Mindshare CTG Analytics.

Measures of success Successful in analysing & reporting key media trends to Mindshare buying team on set timelines; Ability to respond in a timely manner to ad-hoc CTG requirements on category/ sectoral/ media topics

In three months:

- Understood the media fundamentals
- Familiarised self with media measurement tools

In six months:

- Understood in detail the various reports that are created on a regular basis
- Be comfortable handling humongous data in excel, creating white papers/presentations & liaising with various internal & external teams

In 12 months:

- Be independently handling the role
- Coming up with ideas for identifying media trends, identifying need-gaps in existing reports & providing data in a suitable format

Responsibilities of the role:
1. Responsible for tracking media consumption habits through
a. TV viewership report
b. What’s happening the Media environment
c. Spotting key media trends
d. Indian Readership Survey reports
2. Responsible for tracking multi-media efficiency through commercial inventory tracking through
a. TV AdEx Tracker
b. Print Tool Kit
c. Radio Tool Kit
3. Responsible for data support across units
4. Working closely with seniors on industry whitepapers/ discussions/ forums etc

What you will need:

- Strong logical thinking capabilities - the most important criterion
- Willingness to go beyond what is outlined as the immediate task / broader job description (this means thinking through the task & seeing it to completion): the second most important requirement
- Proficiency in MS Office tools(especially Excel - should be comfortable using formulae and Macro writing skills will be an added plus)
