**The Opportunity**:
The Chief Control Office (CCO) plays an important role in enabling the bank to operate within its risk appetite, by ensuring efficient and effective risk and control management.

The CCO achieves this by providing operational risk and control expertise, conducting high quality reviews of the bank's control environment, conducting end to end control assurance reviews on key controls, maintaining robust risk governance focused on material risk and issues, and evolving a culture of continuous and consistent risk management.

**What you’ll do**:
The role has a primary focus on customer tax reporting and regulatory compliance.

The primary responsibilities of the role include:

- Assisting management with providing guidance and support to teams with WPB on all aspects of FATCA and CRS Risk.
- Identifying and addressing gaps in business knowledge and understanding of FATCA and CRS.
- Assisting management with reviewing compliance against the CTR Framework.
- Assisting with the preparation of high quality and timely TAX MI reporting to regional and group teams.
- Attending project working groups aimed at external regulatory change, collating intelligence discussed, and sharing that intelligence with management.
- Assisting with the production of regular reporting to risk forums of WPB.
- Reviewing, identifying and escalating process & procedure gaps and ensuring that gaps are raised for assessment and remediation.
- Contributing towards an effective customer first culture without compromising adhere to internal controls and compliance.
- Assisting management in strengthening the compliance culture in WPB.
- Developing new, and nurturing existing, relationships with key stakeholder to influence and foster risk-aware culture
- Assisting management with completing periodical attestations.

Requirements

**What you will need to succeed in the role**:

- A good understanding of FATCA and CRS Compliance and the regulatory landscape impacting the Australian Retail Banking Industry.
- Having highly developed oral and written communication skills to be able to build relationships with key internal stakeholders.
- Proven history of successfully identifying business risk and assisting in remedial procedures.
- Strong ability to adapt to change and manage multiple tasks and competing deadlines, without compromising attention to detail.
- Proven problem solving skills with ability to consider alternative and lateral solutions.
- Ability to understand complex concepts.
- Exposure and/or strong understanding of Wealth Management, Digital, Branch, Contact Centre, Insurance, Customer Propositions, Mortgages and Cards operational controls & processes would be an advantage.
