Pre-primary Teacher

Responsibilities:

- **Lesson Planning**: Create and implement developmentally appropriate lesson plans and activities that promote learning in areas such as language, math, science, art, and social skills.
- **Classroom Management**: Maintain a well-organized and safe classroom environment, including setting up learning centres, managing classroom materials, and ensuring children's safety.
- **Curriculum Development**: Develop or follow a curriculum that aligns with educational standards and goals, ensuring that it meets the needs of the children in the classroom.
- **Assessment**: Monitor and assess children's progress through observations, evaluations, and assessments. Identify areas where additional support is needed and adapt teaching methods accordingly.
- **Individualized Instruction**: Provide individualized attention and support to children with diverse learning needs, ensuring that all students have the opportunity to succeed.
- **Parent Communication**: Maintain regular communication with parents or guardians to provide updates on their child's progress, share important information, and address any concerns or questions.
- **Social and Emotional Development**: Foster a positive and inclusive classroom culture that promotes social and emotional development, including teaching conflict resolution and problem-solving skills.
- **Health and Safety**: Ensure the health and safety of children in the classroom, including proper hygiene, supervision, and adherence to health and safety regulations.
- **Professional Development**: Stay updated on best practices in early childhood education by participating in professional development activities and workshops.
- **Team Collaboration**: Work collaboratively with other teachers and staff members to create a cohesive and supportive learning environment.

**Qualifications**:

- A bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or E.D or a related field is often preferred, although some positions may accept an associate's degree or relevant certifications.
- Knowledge of child development theories, teaching strategies, and early childhood education best practices.
- Patience, creativity, and a genuine passion for working with young children.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, especially when interacting with children and their parents.
- First Aid and CPR certification may be required.
- Experience working with young children in a similar role is often preferred.
