**Project Description**:
USAID India awarded the **SAMVEG - Systems Approach for MNCH focusing on Vulnerable Geographies **project to IPE Global led consortium. The overarching goal of SAMVEG is to accelerate efforts to improve maternal, newborn and child health outcomes in identified vulnerable geographies of India.

The SAMVEG project, works in 19 aspirational districts in Jharkhand under the Government of India’s flagship Aspirational District Program. The project has developed a **convergent action model** to bring Lead exposure and toxicity to the agenda of the state health department.

Under its objective to mainstream the agenda of Lead exposure and its impact on health and highlight the public health importance of tackling lead toxicity, the USAID supported SAMVEG project team will support in setting up of a **National Resource Center (NRC)** in the Department of Neonatology, RML Hospital, Delhi. This Resource Centre will function as a national knowledge centre with capabilities for diagnosing and managing lead toxicity and help to mainstream the agenda at national level for convergent action for addressing Lead toxicity.

**Objectives**: The primary objectives of **NRC** will be:

- Develop standardized BLL testing protocols and guidelines.
- Develop educational materials, training modules, and guidelines for healthcare professionals on lead exposure assessment and management of lead toxicity.
- Support in building capacity of healthcare providers on testing and management of Lead exposure and toxicity.
- Provide technical assistance to develop contextual and culturally relevant messages for building community awareness.
- Support in Advocacy and to disseminate information and resources to healthcare providers, policymakers, and the public to raise awareness about the risks of lead exposure and toxicity.

Department of Neonatology, ABVIMS & Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital, is seeking a skilled and motivated individual to join the team as Laboratory Technician. The primary responsibility of this role is to do the testing for lead exposure in blood/ detection of blood lead levels (BLL)

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Performing BLL test using POC Lead Care II following the SOPs and protocols promulgated by the National Resource Centre.
- Completion of any other work assigned by PI, Co-PI, in smooth functioning of the laboratory.

**Qualifications and Experience**:

- Bachelor’s degree in medical laboratory science from a recognized University or Institute.
- Two years’ experience as a Medical Laboratory Technologist or Laboratory Technologist from a recognized Hospital or Institute.
