Overview:
As a Product Designer 2 at Lokal, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the user experience and user interface in one of our verticals. We are seeking an individual with an eye for detail, strong problem-solving skills and a deep understanding of user-centric design principles. This position offers the opportunity to take ownership of the end-to-end product lifecycle and collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to deliver impactful solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

- Understand the frequency of usage of the feature or experience and how it fits in the product and maps to the business + Flow of the user for a given problem + Stakeholders involved + Understand long term implications of the recommendation
- Consideration for content + interactions and all states + Consideration for localisation + Accessibility + Preservation of the design system + Preservation of the brand + Ensuring high fidelity of the final output in production
- Helps improve design standards in the company + Defend good design and perpertrate user-first problem-solving
- Contributions to culture and the team + Contributing to improving the team and hiring + Improving productivity of the team team through tools and processes
- Maintain design consistency and standards across all aspects of the product, ensuring a cohesive and intuitive user interface.
- Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in design and user experience.
- Represent the user and drive design decisions with user insights
- Assist the user research team to gain insights into the needs, preferences, and behaviours of our target audience as required.

Qualifications:

- 3-5 years of experience in product design, preferably in a fast-paced startup environment.
- Proficiency in design tools such as Figma, Adobe Creative Suite
- Strong portfolio showcasing your design process, problem-solving abilities, and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively articulate design decisions and rationale.
- Empathetic mindset with a genuine passion for understanding user needs and advocating for their best interests.
- Proven track record of taking ownership of projects and delivering high-quality results within tight deadlines.
- Bachelor's degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or related field is preferred.
