Qualification : MD-MS-DM

An interventional cardiologist is a highly trained physician who specializes in diagnosing and treating heart disease and blood vessel conditions. They perform diagnostic and interventional procedures, and provide general cardiology care. Some of their responsibilities include:

- **Diagnosing and treating cardiovascular disease**:Interventional cardiologists perform diagnostic tests, interpret results, and develop treatment plans. They may also prescribe medications to prevent blood clots.
- **Performing procedures**:They perform invasive procedures like angioplasty, stenting, and cardiac catheterization. They may also implant pacemakers and stents to open blocked arteries.
- **Providing general cardiology care**:They perform patient exams, identify risk factors, and coordinate referrals.
- **Collaborating with other specialists**:They work alongside internal medicine providers, pediatricians, cardiac surgeons, and other specialists.
- **Staying up to date**:They stay current with advancements in the field of interventional cardiology.
- **Maintaining records**They maintain accurate and detailed patient records.
- **Ensuring compliance**:They ensure compliance with all medical regulations and standards.

Interventional cardiologists typically work in emergency departments, cardiology practices, government and military hospitals, medical schools, and universities.
