A restaurant captain, also known as a hotel captain, manages the dining experience in a restaurant. The responsibilities include:

- **Customer service**: Ensure guest satisfaction and exceptional customer service
- **Staff management**: Train, supervise, and mentor restaurant staff
- **Kitchen coordination**: Coordinate with kitchen staff for smooth operations
- **Inventory**: Manage inventory and order supplies when necessary
- **Cleanliness**: Maintain a clean and organized restaurant
- **Compliance**: Ensure compliance with local health and safety regulations
- **Performance evaluations**: Conduct performance evaluations for restaurant staff
- **Guest interaction**: Interact with guests to enhance their dining experience
- **Menu knowledge**: Be knowledgeable about the restaurant's menu and offerings, and be able to answer any questions that guests may have

Restaurant captains should be well-groomed, physically fit, and customer-centric with excellent communication, observational, and team management skills. They should also be able to remain calm and professional in high-pressure situations.
