**Job Title: Head of Department (HOD) - Graphic Design Faculty**

**Position Overview**:
**Key Responsibilities**:

- **Academic Leadership**:

- Oversee the design and delivery of the Graphic Design curriculum, ensuring it aligns with industry trends and academic standards.
- Supervise faculty members, providing mentorship and professional development opportunities.
- Foster a creative and collaborative environment that encourages innovative teaching and student-centered learning.
- **Curriculum Development**:

- Develop and review course materials, ensuring they meet current trends and technological advancements in graphic design.
- Introduce new programs, projects, or workshops to enhance student learning and engagement.
- **Teaching & Mentoring**:

- Deliver high-quality lectures, tutorials, and practical sessions in graphic design.
- Provide academic advising and career counseling to students.
- Supervise students’ projects, theses, and internships.
- **Department Management**:

- Manage departmental budgets, resources, and infrastructure effectively.
- Coordinate the recruitment and evaluation of faculty and staff.
- Organize faculty meetings and facilitate department initiatives.
- **Industry Engagement**:

- Maintain strong ties with the graphic design industry to keep curriculum relevant.
- Organize industry visits, workshops, guest lectures, and internships.
- **Research & Development**:

- Lead and promote research initiatives within the field of graphic design.
- Encourage faculty and students to engage in creative and innovative design projects.
- **Administrative Duties**:

- Oversee the scheduling of classes, student assessments, and grading processes.
- Ensure the smooth running of departmental operations, complying with institutional policies and standards.
- **Student Assessment & Performance Monitoring**:

- Evaluate and assess student performance using appropriate assessment tools.
- Provide constructive feedback and support students in their academic journey.
- **Public Relations & Branding**:

- Represent the department in academic meetings, conferences, and exhibitions.
- Assist in the marketing of the department’s programs and achievements.

**Required Qualifications**:

- **Education**:

- A Master’s degree or equivalent in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, or a related field. A PhD in the relevant field is preferred.
- **Experience**:

- Minimum of 5-7 years of teaching experience in graphic design at a university level or a similar academic institution.
- Proven experience in curriculum development and teaching.
- Previous leadership experience, particularly in managing a department or team, is highly desirable.
- **Skills & Competencies**:

- Strong knowledge of graphic design tools (Adobe Creative Suite, Sketch, etc.) and current design software.
- Expertise in design principles, typography, branding, digital media, and web design.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
- Proven track record of developing students’ portfolios and guiding them in industry-relevant design practices.
- Ability to work collaboratively with faculty, students, and administration.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- **Portfolio**:

- A strong professional design portfolio showcasing a range of work across different design disciplines is required.

Schedule:

- Day shift
- Monday to Friday
- Weekend availability
