As a Fabric Checker, you will play a crucial role at Arete Fashion in ensuring that the fabric used in our garments meets our quality standards. Your attention to detail and keen eye for identifying defects will contribute to maintaining the high quality of our products.

**Responsibilities**:

- **Inspect Fabric Rolls**: Check incoming fabric rolls for defects, inconsistencies, and damages.
- **Verify Specifications**: Ensure that the fabric meets the specified requirements in terms of color, weight, texture, and design.
- **Conduct Quality Checks**: Perform detailed visual inspections of fabric rolls for any weaving, printing, or dyeing defects.
- **Record Findings**: Document and maintain records of fabric inspection results, noting any defects or deviations from quality standards.
- **Communicate Issues**: Report any fabric defects or quality issues to the Fabric Manager or relevant department for necessary action.
- **Coordinate with Suppliers**: Communicate with fabric suppliers to address quality concerns and ensure timely resolution of issues.
- **Assist in Fabric Testing**: Assist in conducting fabric tests, including shrinkage, colorfastness, and tensile strength tests, as required.
- **Maintain Work Area**: Keep the fabric inspection area clean and organized, ensuring a safe and efficient working environment.
- **Collaborate with Production Team**: Coordinate with the production team to prioritize fabric inspection based on production schedules and deadlines.
- **Adhere to Safety Guidelines**: Follow all safety protocols and guidelines to ensure personal safety and the safety of others in the workplace.

**Requirements**:

- **Education**: High school diploma or equivalent qualification.
- **Experience**: Previous experience in fabric checking or quality control in a garment manufacturing unit is preferred but not mandatory.
- **Attention to Detail**: Excellent attention to detail and ability to spot even minor defects in fabric rolls.
- **Color Vision**: Good color vision is essential for identifying color discrepancies in fabrics.
- **Communication Skills**: Clear communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively report findings and collaborate with team members.
- **Team Player**: Ability to work well within a team environment and collaborate with colleagues to achieve common goals.
- **Reliability**: Dependable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- **Physical Stamina**: Ability to stand for long periods and lift moderately heavy fabric rolls when required.
- **Knowledge**: Basic understanding of têxtile materials and manufacturing processes is a plus.
