- **Treatment planning**: Plan radiation treatments for cancer patients

- **Equipment safety**: Ensure that equipment is safe, effective, and working properly
- **Quality assurance**: Develop and maintain quality assurance programs for medical imaging and radiation therapy
- **Patient safety**: Ensure patient safety and minimize radiation dose
- **Research**: Research new treatment options and radiation safety standards
- **Education**: Teach and train future medical physicists, residents, and medical students
- **Communication**: Communicate scientific, technical, and safety-related information to clinical staff
- **Liaison**: Liaise with doctors, manufacturers, and hospital administration
- **Treatment options**: Discuss treatment options with patients
- **Image data**: Process patient image data
