**Job Summary**:
The Principal serves as the chief administrator of the school and is responsible for the overall management of the educational program, fostering a safe and inclusive learning environment, promoting student achievement, and supporting the development and well-being of staff. The Principal works collaboratively with teachers, parents, students, and the wider community to build a positive school culture that reflects high standards of academic excellence and personal growth.
**Key Responsibilities**:Leadership and Administration**:
- Provide strategic leadership and vision for the school, aligning the school’s mission, goals, and educational programs.
- Ensure compliance with all district, state, and federal policies, regulations, and standards.
- Develop and manage the school budget, allocating resources to meet instructional and operational needs.
- Oversee facility management, including safety protocols, maintenance, and improvements.
- Represent the school at meetings, conferences, and community events.
**Instructional Leadership**:
- Lead the development and implementation of effective instructional programs that support student achievement and growth.
- Monitor and evaluate teacher performance, providing feedback, coaching, and professional development opportunities.
- Analyze student performance data to inform decisions related to curriculum, instruction, and interventions.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement, encouraging innovation and collaboration among staff.
**Student Development and Discipline**:
- Promote a positive, inclusive school culture that encourages student engagement and well-being.
- Oversee student discipline, ensuring that policies are applied consistently and fairly.
- Support programs for social-emotional learning, counseling, and extracurricular activities.
- Ensure that all students have equitable access to quality education and resources.
**Staff Management and Development**:
- Recruit, hire, and retain qualified teachers and support staff.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations, providing constructive feedback and identifying areas for professional growth.
- Foster a collaborative work environment that supports teamwork, communication, and professional development.
- Address staff concerns, mediate conflicts, and promote a positive working environment.
**Community and Parent Engagement**:
- Build strong relationships with parents, families, and the local community.
- Facilitate regular communication with parents regarding school policies, student progress, and community events.
- Serve as the primary liaison between the school and external stakeholders, including local businesses, community organizations, and district leadership.
**Other Responsibilities**:
- Develop and implement emergency response plans and safety protocols.
- Stay current on educational research, trends, and best practices.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Superintendent or district leadership.
**Qualifications**:Education and Certification**:
- Master’s degree in Education, Educational Leadership, or a related field (required).
- Valid Principal or Administrative certification/licensure (required).
- Doctorate in Education (preferred, but not required).
**Experience**:
- Minimum of 5 years of teaching experience (required).
- At least 3 years of experience in a leadership role within a school setting (required).
- Proven track record of improving student outcomes and fostering a positive school culture.
**Skills and Abilities**:
- Strong leadership and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with staff, students, parents, and the community.
- Deep knowledge of curriculum development, instructional practices, and student assessment.
- Ability to analyze and interpret data to inform decisions.
- Conflict resolution and problem-solving skills.
- Technologically proficient with school management systems and software.
**Work Environment**:
- The Principal will work in a school environment, interacting with students, staff, and parents on a daily basis.
- May be required to attend evening and weekend events or meetings.
